High school students have the opportunity to talk with local scientists and engineers about current cutting-edge ideas in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) in a relaxed and informal setting.

About the Program
Our Science and Social Justice Forum operates under the umbrella of Teen Science Café Network and provides free events where teens get to socialize over food and refreshments where students take on a current issue that impacts them and their local community and examine it through the lens of science. They connect with local STEM experts, conduct community meetings to share and collect information, and make presentations to elected officials.
The Science and Social Justice Forum leadership team meets regularly during the school year to plan STEAM Cafes for their peers while developing their own leadership skills. Applications to participate in the Leadership Team are available in the Fall.
All high school students are welcome to attend the Cafes and there is no cost to participate.
