Category: Aeronautics, Aerospace, animals, Balboa Park, Children's Nature Retreat, Ecology, Ride Above Disability, Science, STEM, Summer Camp, Wildlife

This week at EIS is one for the books! Right off the bat, we have an awesome guest presentation from Ride Above Disability: Therapeutic Riding Center, and open our doors to their friend, Nugget the miniature donkey, Yes, a donkey! Later in the week the students’ classes will be focusing on animals, specifically Ecology and the different biomes they live in. On Friday they end with a field trip to the Children’s’ Nature Retreat in Alpine where they will have the chance to interact and learn about seventeen different species of domesticated animal livestock. With over a hundred animals to observe, the students will learn aspects of biology, anatomy, ecology, and environmental science as well practicing care and compassion.
