Girls Take Flight Drone Pilot Fatima “Lee” Laugo

We couldn’t be happier to hear about the impact Girls Take Flight has had on young women in southeastern San Diego. San Diego Foundation, which is a long time funder recently interviewed a program graduate.

For Fatima “Lee” Laugo, a recent graduate of Morse High School in San Diego, participating in the 24-week Girls Take Flight program provided the support system she needed to pursue her goal of becoming an aerospace engineer.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint This Summer

We are grateful for the amazing high school and college interns who are part of San Diego Institute of Science and Technology. They are helping support summer camp this year. Three of the things they have been doing is helping us stay green by using leftovers from student’s lunches to compost, create meals for EIS staff, and donating to our local farm to use as feed for their farm animals wildwillowfarm.org.

Thank you Baltazar Perez for your guidance of these interns!
