Happy Filipino American Heritage Month
The 2025 theme for Filipino American Heritage Month (FAHM) is “From Quotas to Communities: Filipino American Migration and Movement”. EIS is honored to support students from all cultures, including those from our Filipino community. Did you know that 2009 was the first time FAHM was recognized by the U.S. Congress, and in 2015, President Obama hosted the first FAHM celebration at the White House?
We Planted Two Trees in Our Outside Play Area
Last week EIS planted two new trees to support our vision of a greener future. These wonderful additions to our outside play area will benefit students today and for many more years to come. We sincerely appreciate the help of volunteers from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Tree San Diego, and the Urban Collaborative Project. Thank you to everyone who made this a great day.
Thank you Vertex Volunteers!
We are beyond grateful for the wonderful volunteers from Vertex Pharmaceuticals for helping plant trees and work on our garden beds. It was not easy to dig the holes for these trees in this hard clay, and the compost they transferred to our garden beds was messy, but they never complained. Thank you all so much for your great attitudes and for volunteering your time with EIS during your global Week of Service. We hope to see you again soon.
