Recap: EIS Botball Robotics Team
The 2025 EIS Botball® team competed in the regional tournament last weekend. Despite not winning first place, they won the Spirit Award! The team name this year was Hyperpigmentation with team shirts designed by the girls.

The program kicked off at the end of January and for most girls, it was their first time working with robotics. Participants learned all aspects of robotics and engineering including coding, designing, and building robots from start to finish. Participants, who are in grades 6-8, report improved confidence in their ability to understand and practice engineering and credit the all-female team and leadership with cultivating an encouraging space and a sense of belonging.
Thank you EIS instructors Ariana and Shyanne, and our student coach! Your dedication and intelligent leadership from January through May created an outstanding experience for our middle school team.

Thank you sponsors for your generous support: BAE Systems, Nordson Corporation Foundation, San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Foundation, PNC Bank Foundation, and Kinship Fund.

Send a Kid to Camp
Help us make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting youth who need it most.
This summer, Level Up San Diego will only be available for two weeks – leaving many children at home in front of a screen for most of the summer. Your generous donation will fund scholarships, enabling students from low-income families to attend summer camp and enjoy enriching experiences without financial strain.
Please help us give local youth a fun and safe summer camp. Donate today! Then, increase your impact by sharing this with friends and asking them to be a hero to a child this summer.
Have you participated in programs or volunteered at the Elementary Institute of Science?
Whether you’re still in high school, college, working or retired, we want to know what you’ve been up to and if you have thoughts about any impact EIS had on your life or career. Please send an email to our Development Assistant, Leah Oviedo at loviedo@eisca.org.
EIS alumni are invited to join our official group to reconnect and stay updated on future reunions. Facebook.com/groups/AlumniConnectEIS
